Do You Love Your Insurer?
Maybe it’s time for a switch. Or perhaps you are perfectly happy where you currently stand. Follow along to learn more about something you should love – your insurance company.
The response to the question can be quite revealing. Consider some possible answers that might be common:
“I guess.” Those who are fairly neutral to their insurer might have mixed feelings regarding premiums, customer service, and the little things (convenience issues, for instance).
“Not at all.” Maybe it’s terrible customer service or a failed claim. You might have high premiums and some major inconveniences – such as having to pay through the mail.
“Yes!” If you’re not here, you certainly can be.
You should have a good read on your situation. If you have an insurance company or two that has treated you well, they you may not want to look around; though a life insurance comparison, for instance, can save you money. However, if the price isn’t right and there are other items of concern, perhaps it’s time to move on.
It’s not just about the money. Satisfaction with the companies you do business with can make a big difference.
The truth of the matter is this: there is something, at the very least, very similar to what you currently have. Therefore, if you don’t like your car insurance company, what are the chances that it is the best policy out there? What are the chances that you can’t get something very close to what you currently have in terms of coverage and price – if not better?
Life is too short to be unhappy with an insurance company, or something like your bank for that matter. There is something to be said about the integrity of a company as well, if you have had a bad experience with yours. On another level, matters of inconvenience can make budgeting and making payments difficult.
Perhaps the best point is this: whether or not you find something better, undertaking an insurance comparison can have good results. You might just find a better insurance policy. At the very least, you might just find a better company as well.
Let’s say that you aren’t that happy with your current insurance company and/or policy. It’s only fair to say that – otherwise, aside from the entertainment, you may not have much reason to be reading this far. What could you do?
The answer is simple: undertake an insurance comparison. Certainly we won’t rehash the steps you should take to do one of these. However, what we will say is that paying attention to the insurance company is a bigger component than most people give it credit. Not only can it lead to better customer service, integrity, and the intangibles that make an insurance company – but it can save you money in itself.
The last phrase is very true. Apart from comparing policies, you can save money by comparing companies. Certain insurers offer more discounts than others – that alone could overcome any top quote that you receive. If that company offers a bundling discount for the items they insure (i.e. auto, home, and life is common), you could have a substantial discount.
Discontent with your company doesn’t have to be the case. You might just find one that makes you happy – and one that saves you money, in the process.
