Carpet Cleaning Vans – Search Tips For Finding Cheap Van Insurance

Every carpet cleaning business seeks to minimize its expenses and finding cheap van insurance is one way to make that happen. This includes both small and large carpet cleaners as reducing costs can directly affect profitability. However, cheap insurance does not mean inadequate insurance. Budget van insurance or cheaper van insurance may be a better way to describe this goal. You don’t want your business to be under-insured but that’s no reason to pay more than you have to for the coverage you need.

The best way to start looking for a better insurance deal is via the internet. While the internet provides a wealth of information, it can sometimes be daunting trying to sift through the all the chaff to find the real information you’re looking for. This article will offer a few tips on how to go about a search for those who may not be comfortable using online resources.

The most important part of any search is the keyword or keyword phrase you type in to start your search (we’ll assume using Google but the process is the same for Bing, Yahoo or any other search engine). The keyword or keyword phrase tells Google what you are looking for so it can return search results that are relevant to your topic. Using the right words or phrase helps eliminate sites that may be related but not exactly what you’re looking for.

As an example, a search for ‘cheap van insurance’ sounds like a logical phrase until you see the results. The websites returned using this phrase are mostly sites targeting consumers looking for personal online van insurance. They collect certain generic information and provide quotes from multiple companies for comparison. These sites are not useful for finding van insurance for your business. Businesses require a company that specializes in commercial insurance which has different requirements than personal insurance.

The idea is to narrow your search phrase to be more descriptive about what exactly you’re looking for. Using the search term ‘commercial insurance’ gives better results as we now get several companies that provide commercial insurance for businesses. However, we’re still not specific enough as many of the search results are companies that provide commercial liability insurance, transit insurance, employee health insurance, etc. We’re looking for the companies that specialize in commercial fleet insurance for our carpet cleaning vans!

A better search phrase would be ‘commercial van insurance’ or ‘commercial vehicle insurance’. These keyword phrases are specific enough to narrow down the results and thus minimize the time needed for research by returning only those sites that can potentially meet our needs.

The internet is a great tool for finding information but its sheer size means you have to put some thought into how you go about your search. Sometimes it’s easy to tell when your search terms are not specific enough. If the results presented do not contain any major insurance companies than you know right away you need to refine your search. Other times, however, the site names might sound good but closer investigation proves they’re unrelated, superficial or just plain useless. Fast and efficient searching is a skill that can be honed with a little practice.

Of course, if you prefer not to spend your time doing this type of work you can always delegate it to a good insurance broker or independent agent. After all, the goal is to run your business and not let your business run you!
